Thoughts on patriotism

I would die for my country. I'm proud being an indian.

Well why are you proud if you're an Indian? Seriously why?

Are we some advanced or rare breed of humans who are intellectual than other humans. Well our physical appearance may differ we all are just humans. Right?

Seriously ? First let me ask you, what do you actually mean when you use the word india? Do you mean the land or the government or anything else?

When I say india is not so good. I literally mean the government. Because we all know our government sucks.

When I say x country is better than India, its just my own preference. I just hate being here for my entire lifetime. I want to explore other countries and different lifestyles .

Well the meaning for the word differs. That's the whole point.

Just think for few seconds, what do you mean when you use the word India?

I hope everyone knows about the war between T-SERIES VS PEWDIEPIE. He made some jokes on india by his videos like you india you lose and bitch lasagna song.

So what? Being an Indian i actually laughed at it. Because it is funny. Actually the whole videos are of pure sarcasm.

Pewdiepie, one of the top youtuber don't want lo lose his subscribers by being racist towards indians,a country with second largest population in the world.

Of course as I expected not every indians are so cool with this video. Well in particular i read an answer by a fellow quoran in which he addressed that he is not cool with it. He even gives an example.

If some people will start mocking your mother, will you be cool?

I completely agree that it is his opinion. But seriously? why are you comparing india with mother. India is just a small region in this earth. Just a piece of land. Whereas your mother is not.

Well actually its not only him. Many of us often interchange these words because of this so called patriotism.

When I say I'm an indian i just mean, I am from a country located in Asia. Its just an identity. That's it.

There's no point in saying, I'm proud because I'm an indian.

And most importantly,

What do you mean when you say, I have to be loyal to India?

Do you mean our government or the land?

If you're referring to the government, then there's no point in saying I have to be loyal. Because we all what our government is.

If you're referring to the land, its more like worshipping a land as a god.

I'm here just being specific, it is not apply only to india but also to other countries.

I believe patriotism is the root cause for all the wars. Many blame the government but I blame the citizens. India vs pakistan. Russia vs USA or the Syria crisis. If the people in the country just take away their patriotism and start revolting against their own country( the government), none of these wars would have happen.

A fair example is indians mocking pakistan and vice versa. A fair example is just the cricket. We all want to win the cricket match against pakistan. We may lose against australia or other.

But if we lose against pakistan its a shame.

We can see pakistani people and indians are mocking each other in facebook saying if there happens to be a war, India will easily win the war and even half of the population of the pakistan will be in end.

Just stop listening to TV. Your opinion about other country actually start to change.

Is war a joke to you? The army soldiers who are dying is not dying for india or for you. They are dying for the government. Just because you are offering them some money that does not mean we have their lives.

Instead of teaching our childrens patriotism we should teach them about humanity and love.

Peace!

Why there's no prom in Indian schools?

First of all , let's see what's prom is .  A prom is a ball or formal dance at a school or college, especially one held at the end of the academic year for students who are in their final year, the sophomores. And it has students bringing dates along with them. Boys and girls in school are supposed to ask each other out to be there prom partners. (Do you think any Indian parent will allow two people of opposite gender to be this close to each other?) This is what happened when this seemingly inappropriate posters of a telugu film called arjun reddy released  Look at how the so called cultural saviors are vandalizing  the public property just because that poster is a threat to their glorious culture (sarcasm). Now, as to why there is no prom concept in India? The reason is-: Most of the people in India are very conservative and talking and hanging out with opposite sex is generally looked down upon by the society it is said to cause distractions...

Rant (1)

I stumbled onto this girl's profile, her bio read:   “Don't text me if you're not 6′1”   Her Display picture? The closest I could find in two minutes:                                                              Just a random pretty girl adding her personal preferences for dating in her bio, totally common and nothing problematic.   Now flip the coin.   A boy goes on to add,   “Hit me up when your waistline hits 24 inches.”   I need not even explain on what kind of reaction that guy will receive from others. Your mind would've also thought of the type of comments he may get.   When it's very much practical and controllable...

The Myth of Starting Late

When he was 32,  Oskar  Schindler  was a balding, opportunistic Nazi who obtained a factory through his Nazi connections. He had no major artistic, oratory or athletic skills. At that point, he had no way to make history in a positive way. But, he did and with just 2 years of work. Through his tenacity and change of nature, he helped 1200 Jews escape the Nazis. Now, a whole community of people proudly uses his name -  Schindlerjuden   (Shindler's Jews) and venerated highly in Israel.Schindler saw a problem and did whatever he could to solve it. That's the way to make history, dammit! There are millions of problems around us and if we change ourselves today, we have an opportunity to make history. Mahatma Gandhi, Jesus Christ, Nelson Mandela and scores of others we remember in history didn't really set the world on fire when they were quite young. They were not child prodigies and they were not extraordinarily skilled in any particular field. They were ordinary m...
